LAS:eR – Peeking into the pilot system

Presentation of the features available in the pilot phase of the nationwide electronic resource management system for managing local licenses

Abstract

In the course of the DFG project ERMS – Electronic Resource Management System, the LAS:eR project team develops a manufacturer-independent ERMS on an open source basis for the organization and administration of electronic resources using the Global Open Knowledge Base (GOKb) as an open knowledge base and standardized interfaces for data exchange with third-party systems. Since the start of the pilot phase in May 2018, it has already been possible for selected institutions to manage local licenses with LAS:eR and to actively influence the ongoing development of the full version, which will be released as a nationwide hbz service in the autumn of 2019 with further management functions for consortium licenses and a business model which takes account of specific user groups.
