In the knowledge society, it is not only expertise that is important, but also knowledge of how to find, use and share information. This knowledge, this information literacy goes far beyond the classical search in catalogues. Thus, e.g. in 2012, the German Rectors’ Conference called for “a new understanding of information literacy and an expansion of the practice of teaching and research”. The Association of College and Research Libraries’ (ACRL’s) Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education of 2016 also calls for a stronger focus on the needs and approaches of the modern students, the Digital Natives, in order to effectively integrate digital literacy into scientific work in the long term. This paper presents the curriculum and the formats for digital literacy, which have been developed at the Information Center Chemistry | Biology| Pharmacy of ETH Zurich since 2012, and explains how they have been successfully implemented in practice since 2013.
