Retrokonversion von 1,2 Millionen Zettelkarten in 1,5 Jahren

Abstract

In 2019 and 2020 the old card catalogues of the University and State Library Darmstadt (ULB) have been retro-converted by two external service providers. Within 1,5 years approximately 1,2 million
index cards were processed. The titles that were previously findable only by a digitized image catalogue are now integrated in the online catalogue and can be researched via the ULB database TUfind.
The following article reports about the starting situation, the process and the results of the two retro-conversion projects. Furthermore, it gives an insight into the cooperation with the assigned companies.
