Especially for the courses of study in Library and Information Science, a continuous review and updating of the course contents is of crucial importance in view of the high development dynamics of the digital transformation and its effects on library practice. This article presents the initial situation, the reform process and the results of the study reform of the part-time Master's program "Library and Information Science" (MALIS) at TH Köln in 2020. As part of this process, external expertise from science and practice was included in a concentrated multi-stage process. The result is a degree program that prepares its graduates with a high level of practical relevance for the dynamic requirements of the LIS-field through new modules such as the basic module Library Carpentry and the cross-sectional module Law, among others. The first students will be admitted to this reformed MALIS program in the summer semester of 2022.
